Sierra BASE and Gremsy Join Forces to Pioneer the Global Infrastructure Diagnostics Market
Joint Development and Marketing with Vietnam's World-Class Gimbal Manufacturer
Sierra BASE, a developer of intelligent robotic infrastructure diagnostic solutions, has partnered with Vietnam's globally renowned gimbal manufacturer, Gremsy, to expand into the global infrastructure diagnostics market.
On January 24, Sierra BASE signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Gremsy's headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The agreement focuses on "innovating intelligent robotic technology and expanding into the global market."
The collaboration aims to integrate Sierra BASE's autonomous drone systems with Gremsy's advanced gimbal and payload technologies to develop next-generation drone-based infrastructure diagnostic solutions. Gremsy plans to customize its latest premium gimbal, the Pixy LR, for Sierra BASE's drone systems. The Pixy LR is a cutting-edge gimbal designed for industrial applications, offering high-quality imaging and stable aerial operation. In addition to technical collaboration, the two companies plan to strengthen their global presence through joint marketing activities, including participation in exhibitions.
Sierra BASE recently gained global recognition by winning the Smart Cities category's Innovation Award at CES 2025. Its flagship product, SIRIUS, is a platform capable of 3D simultaneous control of robots and AI-powered smart monitoring of infrastructure and buildings.
With proprietary technology, it ensures highly stable autonomous flight while detecting issues such as cracks and efflorescence.
Gremsy is a global leader in manufacturing camera gimbal systems for drones and UAVs.
Its lightweight gimbals are widely used in various industrial applications and support high-speed data transmission, compatibility with multiple platforms, and integration with devices like LiDAR and thermal cameras.
The partnership aims to commercialize next-generation drone solutions by 2025. These solutions are expected to be utilized across industries such as construction, infrastructure inspection, and disaster response.
Han Sang-soo, Director of Sierra BASE, stated, "This collaboration is a significant milestone that combines the technological strengths of both companies to set new standards in the global infrastructure diagnostics market. We will accelerate domestic and international market expansion through drone technology innovation and safety diagnostics solution development."
Chu Nguyen, Vice General Director of Gremsy, stated, “We are thrilled to join forces with Sierra BASE to operate autonomous UAV systems in complex environments using SLAM algorithms for path planning and AI capabilities, the systems enhanced by Gremsy’s advanced gimbal and payload stabilization solutions. We are ready to push boundaries and expand our reach to South Korea's market and globally, signing the MOU is just the beginning in our journey to set a bold new direction for the future of infrastructure inspection. “
